Why Are CBD Cosmetics Becoming So Popular? + How To Make Them!
Ever since CBDs legalization in November of 2018, brands and companies throughout the UK have been quickly incorporating it into many different branches of the market, and one of these is cosmetics and beauty products. In fact, if you've been keeping up with any of the latest beauty trends, you will know that's CBD cosmetics have been one of the most followed beauty trends of 2019.
This means that all throughout the UK, CBD cosmetics have been popping up and creating a splash in the marketplace. Countless different beauty influencers from around the UK and the world have been reviewing and using CBD cosmetics on their social media platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, and Twitter.
But have you stopped to ask yourself why CBD cosmetics have become so popular in so little time, and why it is that so many people are switching over to CBD infused skin care products?
Natural CBD Cosmetics: A Healthier Alternative to Chemical- Packed Products
CBD is a component naturally found in cannabis and hemp plants. This means that CBD is 100% organic and natural, and when it is grown and sourced from companies that value clean, pure CBD, CBD is one of the most natural and pure ingredients that can be incorporated into cosmetics today.
Thanks to CBD’s natural origins, it is the perfect ingredient to put into cosmetics for many reasons. But the most important reason for these is the fact that it is much healthier for your skin than, say, the typical cocktail of chemicals with names we cannot even pronounce half the time. I mean, is there even a necessity for seven different preservatives in a daily brightening serum?
Many people have begun to value natural and organic cosmetics because the benefits of using all-natural makeup are very clear when it comes to the health and appearance of one’s skin. For example, if you have been using chemical-based cosmetics or beauty products, when you switch over to natural beauty products, you will be able to see a significant difference in the appearance and overall health of your skin.
This is all thanks to the natural benefits of the ingredients used in these products. For example, some of the most used ingredients in natural cosmetics are essential oils thanks to their countless benefits for the skin and body. Another very widely used ingredient in natural cosmetics and health care products is shea butter because it is one of the most moisturizing and nourishing natural ingredients available.
The benefits of natural cosmetics are countless and are all benefits which should be considered when makeup is a part of your everyday routine. Therefore, I greatly suggest trying natural cosmetics, I know that you're not going to regret it.
Why Should You Give CBD Cosmetics a Try?
As I was mentioning above, CBD cosmetic products are a much healthier way to keep your skin feeling and looking great, especially when you use makeup every single day.
Pure CBD, CBD oil, hemp oil, and full spectrum hemp CBD are all one in the same. Pure CBD, or CBD isolate, is where everything begins. CBD isolate can be added to any type of oil, cream, spray, or mixture, and that's how you get different kinds of CBD skin care.
Adding CBD to your cosmetic routine is a great way to get your daily dose of CBD, since the skin is directly connected with the endocannabinoid system, which is the system that is responsible for picking up and metabolizing CBD, so not only will your skin benefit from your natural CBD cosmetics, but the whole rest of your body will too.
Hemp oil provides nutrients to your skin
Hemp oil, or Cannabis sativa seed oil, is a very rich oil thanks to its large percentage of fatty acids, vitamins, and minerals. Many of the vitamins and fats found in hemp seed oil are those which are essential to keeping your skin beautiful. For example, hemp oil contains a large number of fatty acids such as Omega 3 and Omega 6, and those are essential to keeping your skin hydrated and glowing.
I highly recommend using a serum or body oil contains hemp oil thanks to its high content of fatty acids, but also because it is a light oil that will not become sticky or too heavy on the skin once applied.
It's the latest beauty trend
I personally love staying up to date with all the latest beauty trends, and when I first started hearing about CBD cosmetics I instantly knew that it was going to become a big business because CBD was just legalized in the UK, and therefore it was definitely the next big thing both in fitness and health markets as well as in cosmetic and beauty markets.
So, once I began to be familiar with CBD cosmetics in the brands that sell it, I instantly found myself wanting to try and more and more CBD products. Once I tried many different types of CBD cosmetics, I found myself loving them, and incorporating CBD more and more into my daily routine.
My personal experience with CBD cosmetics made me realise why CBD is the latest beauty trend, and why it has grown to be such a big industry in so little time. First, I love the fact that most CBD beauty products are all natural, and second, I simply love the extra dimension that CBD and hemp oil adds to each of my beauty products.
DIY All-Natural CBD Beauty Products
One of the only downsides that I found with CBD cosmetics is the fact that most of the brands that sell them in the UK are on the higher end side, so I found myself paying a little bit more than I would have normally paid for, say, a nighttime serum. But as soon as I started getting familiar with all of the active ingredients inside of the products that I was buying, I realised that I was more than capable of making my own CBD beauty products without having to spend so much money on them. I wanted to share with you what I've learned so that you know that pricey CBD cosmetics aren't your only option. So below, you will see two of my favourite recipes for your own natural DIY beauty routine on a budget.
Acne Fighter Serum
I personally have problems from time to time with acne around my forehead area. To me, this is one of the most inconvenient places to get acne. I have found that when I use my DIY acne fighter serum, I don't seem to get as many breakouts as I would have gotten thanks to the naturally nourishing, and antibacterial properties of the essential oils in this mixture.
You will need:
- 50mg of CBD Isolate Crystals
- 1 TBSP of grapeseed oil (carrier)
- 5 drops of tea tree oil
- 3 drops of frankincense oil
- 3 drops of rose oil
- 1 drop of clove leaf oil
- A glass container with a dropper
To incorporate the CBD into the mixture, you will have to slightly heat up your grapeseed oil in a double boiler set up (or a different carrier oil if you prefer), add your CBD isolates and mix well until completely dissolved (make sure your heat is not set too high, low heat will do), and let that mixture cool down completely.
Then you will take your cooled down mixture of grapeseed oil and CBD, add it into the container you'll be using, and then add all the essential oils into the container. After, just mix well and make sure all the oils are incorporated well into each other.
Hemp Oil CBD Lip Balm
Having smooth and soft flips makes me feel like I can take on the whole world. If you are like me, and you love having extra soft and nourished lips, you will definitely love my constantly kissable lip balm recipe. Most lip balm jars or tins hold around 15ml, and this recipe is for four 15ml jars.
You will need:
- 40mg of CBD Isolate Crystals
- 1.5 tsp beeswax
- 2.5 tbsp shea butter
- 1 tsp hemp seed oil
- 10 drops sweet orange oil
- First, melt the shea butter and beeswax pastilles to liquid form. All you need to do is place it in a double boiler over low heat on the stove top.
- Once it had liquefied, remove from heat, let it cool for 1 minute then stir in the hemp seed oil and sweet orange essential oil.
- Add in CBD isolate. Again, stir to combine.
- Pour your mixture into lip balm tubes or jars. Make sure it isn’t hot so you don’t melt down the plastic tubes!
- Let set in the fridge for 30 minutes then they’re ready to use!
