It seems as though there’s a day for just about anything now, and it’s kind of true! However, that doesn’t have to be seen as something negative or over the top. Having days dedicated to the stuff we love makes it fun to celebrate even the smallest of things or it can be a great way to create conversations about your interests. Love Doughnuts? Brilliant, National Doughnut Day is November 5. Now there is one more day to look forward to for CBD enthusiasts, National CBD Day.
While there may be celebratory days dedicated to, what some may find, trivial objects, there are also days created to raise awareness. For example, September 8 is International Literacy day and it was created to highlight the importance of literacy within society, communities and even individuals.
Although the need for literacy is hardly comparable to the need for a CBD Day, it was created by Cannabidiol (CBD for short) advocates to bring awareness to all the benefits of this amazing Cannabinoid. They also felt it would be a great way to address any of the concerns that some people may have about CBD.
The 8th of August 2019 will mark the first-ever National CBD Day so be sure to mark it in your calendars if you’re a Cannabidiol fanatic. Not only because it’ll be the perfect time to find any information on it that you have always wondered about, but also because there will definitely be some savings to be had. Especially with Bloom Botanics!
What is CBD?
While many may be very excited at the possibility of saving money on CBD, there are still some who are wondering what exactly it is. Which is totally understandable, seeing as it seems as though it has only started gaining popularity in recent years. If fact, it has only become legal to buy or sell CBD in the UK in November 2018.
CBD is the abbreviation for Cannabidiol, and Cannabidiol is an organic compound (sometimes referred to as cannabinoids) that is found within hemp and cannabis plants. If fact, it is just one of the 113 identified cannabinoids that make up the hemp and cannabis plants. The CBD products you will find in shops will almost always be derived from hemp plants.
A very common misconception about CBD is that it will make a person feel “high” because it comes from hemp or cannabis plants, but that is simply not the case. The cannabinoid found in cannabis plants that is responsible for the psychoactive effects associated with marijuana is called tetrahydrocannabinol (THC for short). Any CBD products found in shops will only have trace amounts of THC in them. In fact, by law, CBD products are not able to have any more than 0.2% THC. This amount is so minute, that it is impossible to have any mind-altering effects.
As there are no psychoactive effects from CBD, many people have begun taking it as a food supplement to receive the same health and wellness benefits of cannabinoids without a mind-altering experience.
How Can I Celebrate National CBD Day?
There is no right or wrong way to celebrate National CBD Day! Maybe you’ve never actually tried CBD and would like to. CBD Day will be the perfect time to do so because there will definitely be sales! Not to mention it will be a great time to stock up on the products you already love.
You don’t have to participate in the sales to celebrate either. We have lots of fun recipes you can add your favourite CBD Oil to or you can even try adding it to a cocktail to twist things up. One of the best ways to add CBD to your favourite drinks is with a Water-Soluble CBD as these types of products are made exactly for that.
