How to Prolong the Life of Your Coils

How to Prolong the Life of Your Coils

Vape Coils, When it comes to vaporizers, there are a wide variety of parts and pieces of their builds that can be fixed, so that they may offer optimal functionality for years to come. However, there is one part that all vaporizers have that cannot be fixed; this piece is a vape coil. Vape coils, unlike other parts and pieces that vaporizers have, cannot be used for long periods of time, and need to be changed often so that the vaporizer may offer pure and clean vapor.

Although all vape lovers have a dream of simply reusing the same vape coil forever, this is impossible. We have all been in the position of asking ourselves “why does my vape coil burn out so fast?” or “do I really already need another coil?”, well, the answer is probably yes. Vape coils are a very essential part of a vaporizer, due to the fact that they are the actual piece that comes in contact with the materials that are to be vaporized in the unit. If a coil is not working correctly, the whole vaporizer itself will not be able to offer the high-quality vapor it is capable of.

Although many may believe that their vape coils burn faster because they vape too much, this is actually not true. There are certain things that can lead to a vape coil burning faster, but actually using the vaporizer many times is not the cause. Although there is no actual way to keep a vape coil working smoothly forever, there are a few things that you can do to keep your vape coil lasting longer. This will simply ensure that you will not have to be purchasing so many replacement pieces, and maybe save yourself some money too (who doesn't love that?).

Prepping Your Vape Coil is Important

When you purchase a vaporizer, and speak with a vape professional or read your users manual, one of the first steps that is recommended before using the vaporizer is prepping the vape coil. Of course, we've all had those moments where we think to ourselves “this probably isn't necessary, their just saying that because that have too”, prepping your vape coil is actually super important. One of the things that will lead to a vape coil burning in a super short time, is not properly ‘breaking it in’.

Breaking in your vape coil is not a complicated process, and is not as overwhelming as it may seem at first. There are only a few essential steps that you have to complete to have your vape coil ready to use, and ready to last a long period of time without burning. If you correctly prep, or break in your new vape coil, you'll immediately see that your coils will last longer into the future and offer better taste without being burnt for a longer period of time. To break in your vape coil, follow these three simple steps:

    1. Drip the Wick - The first step to priming your coil is to drip the wick. What I mean by this, is to saturate the materials that are found in the vape coil. You will find that on the coil, there are small holes where the wick itself comes in contact with the vape juices. For the wick to work correctly, it is important to saturate its materials before you start vaping, for if not, it will burn quickly. To do this, simply take your e-liquid, and place around three drops of juice into each hole. Add a very small drop inside the head of the coil, and let it sit for 1 to 2 minutes.
    1. Take Dry Hits - To prep your wick even more, and allow the liquids to enter snugly into the materials, it is super important to take dry hits. This meaning that you take a draw off of the vaporizer, but simply do not press the button that causes the unit to vaporize liquids. Basically what you are doing, is pulling the liquid into the materials with suction. You could take from 5 to 10 dry hits, and your coil will be almost ready to use.
    1. Start Slow - This is more of a tip than a step, but it should be done to ensure optimal functionality from the coil. When I say start slow, I refer to taking very small slow hits from your vaporizer and waiting small amounts of time before taking the next hit. As opposed to vaping up huge clouds of vapor, try to start slow and work yourself up patiently. This will ensure that if there are any parts of materials that are not completely submerged in the vaping liquid, they will gradually get saturated. After the third step, your coil is ready to go!

Tips & Tricks for Long-lasting Coils

As I mentioned above, there are a variety of things that can lead to your coil burning faster than usual. Coils do not get burned only because the user is vaping wrong, or they are cursed by a witch. Coils simply burn, and there is no possible way to make them last forever. However, if you keep in mind these tips and tricks, and use your vaporizer in the correct way, your coil will definitely last longer, and your wallet will stay full longer. Try to keep these tips and tricks in mind the next time you change your coil, and watch how Its life will last longer.

Never Vape Without Liquids-You have your brand new coil, the vapor tastes wonderful, and you're enjoying your vaporizer like never before, and then out of the blue you get distracted, you vape up all your liquids, and you take a big long hit from your unit, then to notice that it has no liquids in its tank! This is bad news. Keeping liquids in the tank is always super important, and it is ideal to never vape or press the firing button when your unit does not have any liquids; if you do, it will heat the actual materials inside of the coil as opposed to liquids, and fastly burn. To avoid this, simply always keep an eye on your tank, and make sure to always have enough oil to cover the holes in the coil.

Be Patient With Your Unit-Another thing that you should keep in mind when trying to make your coil last longer is to be patient with your vaporizer. When I say patient, I do not mean to have a non-enjoyable time, I simply refer to giving the unit time to cool, and not overusing or exhausting your vaporizer. Instead of constantly vaping every 2 seconds, and never putting your unit down, try to wait for at least 2 to 5 seconds before taking another hit. This will simply allow your unit to cool, and it's materials to wet again with liquids.

Prolonging Your Coils Life is Easy!

Although when searching for an answer to your coil problem, you most probably felt stressed and overwhelmed thinking of the complicated maintenance process. However, as you can see, prolonging your vape coils life is super easy, and there are only a few steps necessary to have your coil working smoothly far into the future. If you follow these simple tips and tricks and maintain your unit often, you will find that your coils will work great longer and allow you to have the best vape experience possible.
